Who's done and wants to talk?

I thought it was a pretty amazing ending...but man, was the middle of this book kinda flabby or what? Seemed like they hopped around England forever trying to do god knows what with the horcruxes.

All I could think of was Ripley in a Power Loader.

I loved the house elves joining the fight. Pretty much that entire final fight was awesome. I especially liked how we stayed with Harry and basically saw stuff in the background--that's gonna look AWESOME on film.

I hope they do it right and devote like an hour to the final battles.

I was happy to see Neville kicking ass.

I was super shocked that both Lupin and Tonks died and a bit confused that Harry waits until Ted is 17 to invite him to live with them (in the epilogue). If Harry is his godfather and both parents died why didn't he move in sooner?

All in all, I loved it and had a hard time putting it down.

That's a fair question--did they say who Ted Tonks is living with now that his parents are dead? Maybe he has relatives just like Harry did?

Neville killing Nagini was a great moment. I like that even though Neville's only a supporting character, since he was tied to the prophecy, he got a moment of kick-ass too.

I still don't get the ending 100% but I guess I'll reread it eventually. I liked VERY much how harry died and then came back. That King's Cross chapter is just so great.

My understanding, via Wikipedia, is that Teddy lived with his grandmother, Andromeda Tonks. I believe this info comes from Rowling.

I think in part she wants to show Harry being a responsible God-Parent which is in direct contrast to the recklessness of Sirius.

I don't think we've seen the last of the HP-Universe. My thoughts are either she is going to revisit other characters or have a bunch of authors write short stories about other characters ala Tales from Jabba's Palace to further flesh out the universe. There is a lot of richness and subsequently money to be made. HP isn't going away. It may very well be the new Star Wars.

Yeah, Ted was with his grandmother during the fight in which his parents died so I just assumed that he lived there full time. Although Harry did state that he was over for family meals 4 or 5 times a week.

Also I read an interview with Rowling in the Sun Times in the week before the book came out and she said she was done with Harry Potter. But that she would never say never. She also stated that once shes done a few other things that she may return to the universe and write further stories on other characters just like you're thinking. She said there are plenty of characters that could have their own stories fleshed out in further detail.
