Chicago Force

August 11, 2002

Chicago Force Jedi Council had their monthly meeting today. They made sure everything was on track (pun intended) for the trip to the East Troy Electric Railroad and the paintball outing at Blast Camp, Indiana. They also started working on the video scavenger hunt and all of the upcoming conventions (WindyCon, FilmCon, etc.).

OK, who are we kidding? They just got together to eat and drink beer. Don't believe it? Matt "Hazmatt" Callison brought along his new Sony Clié NR70V PDA with built-in camera to capture all the debauchery.

Meeting Minutes

Website
     -The website is back up and operational
     -Domain name is paid for up to Aug 10, 2005
     -We should give a small gift to Aaron to show our appreciation for his self-less efforts in hosting and maintaining the website until now
     -Hazmatt will add a "countdown clock" for Episode III, tenatively using May 18, 2005 as the release date
     -Personal pages
          -Fun idea, but many not used
          -Hazmatt to prepare canned "bio" page that can be filled out, including picture.
          -We need to decide what fields to include on Bio page
     -Links page
          -Provide quality links
          -Do we have a banner for other pages to use linking to us?
     -Hazmatt to check on prices for in-house bulletin board software.

Business cards
     -Simple, text-only business cards can be created quickly and cheaply at Kinko-type stores
     -We should all get several hundred of these cards and distribute liberally

Monthly meetings
     -We have a need for regular monthly meetings so people can schedule for them
     -Meetings scheduled for second Sunday of each month at 4:00 PM
     -We need a rotating schedule of meeting locations to accommodate travel
          -North suburbs
          -Middle/city
          -South suburbs

Convention parties
     -CF likes to, and has been invited to, host parties at conventions
     -November
          -WindyCon and FilmCon are both in November
     -It is only feasible due to time/money contraints to host a party at one of these cons
          -Those working at the party miss out on the convention
          -E-mail poll to see which one we should host the party at
          -Party will be "Club Sith" regardless of location

     -We must incorporate before pursuing this
     -Phil/Dave to explore Lucasfilm contacts regarding use of copyrighted material
     -If Lucasfilm denies use, we could do a similar display to our banner on FanForce page
     -CTA encourages use of local artists
